春になると行きたくなる場所がある。
朝いつものコースを軽くランニングをしていると、我が家の近くを流れる見沼用水沿いの桜並木が満開で迎えてくれた。
帰ってからシャワーを浴びて、母の体調を鑑みて午後からお花見を予定した。
今年は妻と、そして母を車椅子に乗せて、3人でのお花見を楽しんできた。
満開の桜の下をゆっくり歩く（いや、転がす笑）。
風が吹くたびに花びらがひらひらと舞って、なんとも気持ちいい。
車椅子を押していると軽く汗をかくくらいの気温ちょうどいい季節。
母も嬉しそうで、それだけで来てよかったと思えた。
そしてお花見といえば…やっぱり乾杯！🍺
コンビニで買ってきた缶ビールで乾杯！
外で飲むビールって、なんであんなに美味しいんだろう。
格別でした。最高。
妻も喜んで写真を沢山とってました。
春の空気と桜と家族と冷たいビール。
シンプルだけど、これが一番の贅沢かもしれない😊
🌸 The Best Cherry Blossom Viewing at Minuma Irrigation Canal — A Spring Day with Family and a Wheelchair
Morning Run
Every spring, there is a place I feel drawn to return to.
On my usual morning run, the cherry blossom avenue along the Minuma Irrigation Canal — just near our home — greeted me in full bloom.
After getting back and taking a shower, I checked on my mother’s condition and planned an afternoon hanami outing for the three of us.
This year, my wife and I took my mother — seated in her wheelchair — for a cherry blossom viewing together, just the three of us.
We strolled leisurely beneath the fully bloomed cherry trees (well, I was pushing the wheelchair — ha!).
Every time the breeze blew, petals drifted softly through the air, and it felt simply wonderful.
The temperature was just right — warm enough to work up a light sweat pushing the wheelchair.
Seeing my mother’s happy expression made every bit of the journey worthwhile.
And of course, hanami wouldn’t be complete without a toast! 🍺 We cracked open some canned beers picked up from the convenience store.
Why does beer taste so much better when you’re drinking it outside? It was something else. Absolutely perfect.
My wife was thrilled too, snapping photos left and right.
Fresh spring air, cherry blossoms, family, and a cold beer. Simple as it sounds — this might just be the greatest luxury of all. 😊
